Patrice C. Lara

Ms. Lara graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Education. In 1978, she moved to Virginia and from 1980 -1984 she served as the Director of Development for the Fairfax Symphony. In 1991, Ms. Lara and her husband, E. Ronald Lara CFP, founded the Lara Group, Ltd. Currently she oversees the administration of the firm.

A 1968 graduate of the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Mr. Lara was the Assistant District Engineer for Humble Oil and Refining Company from June 1968 to April 1969. He then served in the United States Army through April 1971. Following his military service, Mr. Lara entered the financial services field with a Washington, DC firm. In 1997, Mr. Lara became one of the first designated Certified Financial Planners in the Washington, DC area. In 1981, he founded Lara, Shull & May, Ltd., an independent, full service investment and financial planning firm. During 1985 and 1986 Mr. Lara developed an investment strategy utilizing US Treasuries, formalizing the US Treasury Bond Management Program in 1987. As a result of the Program's success, The Lara Group, Ltd. was formed in 1991 for the sole purpose of managing investment funds using US Treasury Securities. Mr. Lara currently serves as a sub-advisor to The Lara Group, Ltd. consulting on U.S. Treasury securities.
Jennifer Szaro

A 1994 graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science Ms. Szaro served as product manager and marketing director in the apparel manufacturing industry until 1999. In 2000 Ms. Szaro entered the financial services industry as Marketing Director for The Lara Group Ltd (“TLG”) and Lara, Shull & May (“LSM”), a FINRA and SIPC member firm. She became an investment advisor representative and broker agent. She is now the Administrative Officer for LSM. Over the years she helped to market and enhance TLG’s U.S. Treasury Bond Management program to become a nationally offered investment product and on multiple custodian platforms. She currently manages TLG’s U.S. Treasury Bond Management Program, portfolio execution, company operations and client relations.
